Outstanding — the British Shorthair is arguably the best apartment cat breed. Its low energy, calm temperament, ability to entertain itself, and very low grooming needs make it exceptionally well-suited to apartment life across all Indian metros.

The British Shorthair is affectionate in its own dignified way — it is loyal and will stay nearby, but it is not a clingy or demanding breed. It prefers to be in the same room rather than always on your lap. This independent affection suits busy professionals very well.

Moderate shedding year-round with a heavier seasonal shed twice yearly. The short, dense coat is easier to manage than long-coated breeds — weekly brushing during normal periods, more frequent during shedding seasons.
